'Aegan' is not a Hindi remake

" 'Aegan' is not the remake of the Hindi 'Main Hoon Na' ", says Raju Sundaram. Main Hoon Na is a Bollywood film of 2004 starring Shahrukh and Sushmita Sen. It tells the story of an army officer and his efforts to foil a terrorist.

Ace choregrapher Raju Sundaram, whose directorial debut is 'Aegan' says, "Aegan has not been remade from 'Main Hoon Na'; it is just inspired from a Korean film and 'Back to school', an English movie of 1986. Aegan is also getting released in some countries where the Tamil films have not been released so far. 400 prints have been made."

Raju Sundaram had earlier choreographed for some of the movies of Ajith. He added that it was comfortable and easy working with Ajith as they both have already worked together.

'Villu' - Shaping up fast

Shooting for the Vijay starrer 'Villu' is reportedly going on at a brisk pace. Directed by Prabhu Deva, the movie features Nayantara as the heroine.

The crew is currently in Tuticorin shooting some important sequences that include action scenes. Touted to be an action flick shot in a stylish manner by Prabhu Deva, the movie is produced in a grand manner by Ayngaran International and is expected for a release during Pongal.

Buzz is that the songs have been shot in a catchy manner by Prabhu Deva as he did in his earlier venture 'Pokkiri' with Vijay.

'Vijay fans can expect a thorough entertainer loaded with action and other commercial elements, said Prabhu Deva recently.

'Villu' is Vijay's 48th film and his next 'Vettaikkaran' is expected to go to the floors very soon.

Is 'Marma Yogi' shelved?

Rumors are abuzz that Kamal Haasan's 'Marma Yogi' has been postponed and a movie titled 'Thalaivan Irukiran' would be commenced, which would be enacted and directed by Kamal Haasan himself.

Sources close to the actor denied reports appeared in a section of media that it has been shelved. 'Marma Yogi' has only been postponed and not shelved, they said.

'Marma Yogi' was supposed to hit the floors in the first week of November. Prominent actresses including Shriya and Trisha were roped in for the movie. A joint venture of Pyramid Saimira and Raj Kamal Films Internationals, 'Marma Yogi' was set in sixth century AD for which the musical score would be by A.R.Rahman.

In other developments Hema Malini who was roped in to play a pivotal role in the film has reportedly wanted to distance herself away from the project as she might not have sufficient dates. Since there is confusion as to when ‘Marma Yogi’ would start, the actress who was fondly referred to as ‘Dream Girl’ might not be part of the project.

Kamal's production house Raj Kamal Films International has registered a title 'Thalaivan Irukiran.' which is expected to go to floors from January, 2009. Neither the production house nor the star cast has been finalized, the sources further said.

Kamal, Mohanlal in 'Thalaivan Irukiran'

The acclaimed actors of Indian cinema who did versatile roles in various Indian languages and won several awards and accolades are coming together for their next.

The latest buzz doing rounds in Kollywood is that Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal will act together in 'Thalaivan Irukiran'.

To be produced by Gemini Films, the movie would be directed and enacted by Kamal Haasan himself. The new film is expected to go to the floors from January, 2009.

‘Marmayogi’ to be directed by Kamal Haasan was supposed to hit the floors on the first week of November. Prominent actresses including Shriya and Trisha were reportedly roped in to be a part of the project. However, the project has been temporarily postponed forcing Kamal Haasan to make plans for his next 'Thalaivan Irukiran'.
